SEARCHLIGHT PARTNERS ANNOUNCES MAJOR EXPANSION IN SEARCH & LEADERSHIP CONSULTANCY TEAM

Daniel Weinzweig, Managing Partner, announced the following new additions to the Searchlight Partnership Team.

Mark Rubinstein has joined the firm as Co-Managing Partner and together with Daniel Weinzweig, will lead Searchlight’s expanded practice in executive search, executive coaching and purpose-driven corporate culture and talent strategy.  Mark has previously worked with Searchlight as a Senior Partner. Mark’s expertise includes leadership and talent strategy across several sectors including in media, sports and entertainment, digital and technology, arts & culture, and social enterprise. He has previously served as President of Alpine Canada, Insight Sports, Alliance Atlantis, Yahoo! & CHUM Ltd. Mark is also the Founder of Art of Purpose, a consultancy practice devoted to helping organizations engage more customers and employees through “Purpose” driven strategy and programs.

Carol Darling: Senior Partner

Carol Darling is an accomplished executive, director and Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience in management, advisory, and board settings primarily in the media, arts, and communications industries. She has advised numerous companies on business innovation, represented the positions of major North American media organizations in international forums, and chaired and participated in over 20 corporate, industry-wide, and government Boards, Advisory Bodies or Committees addressing the rapidly changing technology environment.  

As a seasoned operational leader and technology executive, her advisory roles encompass organizational strategy, operational / technology transformation, and mentoring of talent across a broad range of disciplines and organizations.

A graduate of Queens’ University in Civil Engineering (1978), Ms. Darling is the recipient of the North American Broadcasters Association (NABA) Board Contribution Commendation (2008) and the Canadian Women in Communications (CWC) Trailblazer of the Year award (1997), for her vision and accomplishments in breaking new ground.  

Leslie Wasserman:  Associate Partner

Leslie Wasserman is a skilled communicator and media executive.

A former CBC News journalist and senior manager, she has more than twenty-five years of multi-platform experience.  As a Producer/Reporter Leslie covered some of the biggest entertainment news stories of the last two decades and has an expertise in arts, lifestyle and entertainment programming.  She was Executive Producer of CBC Live, a digital platform designed to raise the profile of CBC Talent and programs, and a member of CBC's Communications, Marketing and Brand team.  Leslie was a Supervising Producer at Global's “ETCanada” where she developed many high impact integrated specials. Leslie believes in the power of art, words, food, travel, and real news.

Leslie’s focus is on senior-level search across all functional roles.

Maria Mironowicz: Associate Partner

Maria Mironowicz is a former CBC TV broadcast news executive with an accomplished background as a producer, executive producer, and commissioning editor. She is widely recognized for her creativity and innovation in media. She has also served as a professor of journalism and media at Sheridan College. 

Maria helps organizations inspire and build high-performing teams by recruiting talent and optimizing individual potential.
